Natalie reached one week old late Friday night. She is doing well and we love her more every day. She’s been enjoying the week with her Mom and Dad and Grandma helping out around the house and keeping her growing big and strong.

Natalie weighed a bit less than the doctors wanted to see when she was checked on Monday, so she’s been on strict orders to be up regularly for feeding. We wake the sleeping baby when it is time for feeding and sometimes have to work hard to keep her awake. Mom has been pumping some extra after feeding her as well to get her weight moving up faster. All seems to be paying off as she is spending more time awake during the day and is waking more regularly to eat instead of needing to be woken up. We’ll see how her weight is at her next checkup on Monday.
On the night time side of things, Natalie seems to be getting more comfortable sleeping at night and has been starting to sleep for a few hours in the night before waking up to eat. This is great improvement for Mom and Dad who are getting much more sleep than when she was staying up crying and unhappy through most of the night. We are hopeful that she doesn’t regress in the near future as we have been enjoying our nights much more.
Natalie has been out for a couple of strolls with Mom and Dad when the weather cooperates. One walk in the stroller and one walk in the Boba wrap. In addition to the walks she likes her tummy time and listening to Mom and Dad read her stories and the newspaper.
